| | Model of the car: | Neon LX | | | General comments: | We have had two 2000 Neons. Both were totaled in collisions, but the passenger areas held up very well. They are very passenger safe. Driving our last Neon, my wife was stopped at a red light (with four cars in front of her) when a van failed to stop, hitting her from behind. The car was hit so hard that the four cars in front were also hit in a chain reaction. It was a six car pile up. The Neon held up very well. Both the rear and front ends were completely crunched, but the passenger compartment was intact. My wife walked away with a mild concussion. If you're looking for a safe and roomy small car, look at the Neon.
