Neon
| | Model of the car: | Neon | | | General comments: | Don't buy, you would be better off walking. The past two years this car has all but fallen apart. It is barely 5yrs old, and has 78k miles. I have gone through as many sets of tires as I have head gaskets and transmissions. To date I am still looking for some type of resolve. Dealing with the folks at Chrysler thus far has been a nightmare. The dealership has done nothing. Basically they say since the warranty has expired it is no longer their problem. Dealing with Chrysler's customer service department has been a real treat!! They hide behind rehearsed answers, and have zero accountability for producing a lousy product. I can't understand how a vehicle with such a terrible track record is still able to be sold. You might be one of the lucky few to own a problem free 95' Neon........I'd rather gamble in Vagas not on my car!! | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | MONEY PIT!! The car is worthless. We just finished paying it off in Nov-00, and here is a list of major failures:-recalled for steering column-Jan 99, transmission and head gasket replaced-Nov 00, head gasket and timing belt replaced-Dec 00, transmission, radiator, condenser replaceHas ok power until you turn on the AC, then you slow down. Getting in and out of it is a chore, and from time to time you will get a static shock when you lock the doors. The windshield washing fluid dispenser is faultering (barely dispenses any fluid). Rear brakes are squeaky (neighbors love this especially in the early A.M.) Long trips are especially uncomfortable....my legs tend to feel a bit numb. Wind noise is very noticable. | | | Previous car: | Buy a schwin!! |
