| | Model of the car: | 4dr Base | | | General comments: | The Neon was nice. I used it for about 1,300 miles before trading it in for a Chevy Blazer. Of course I will not compare it to the Blazer. One thing I hated about the Neon was the ugly bumpers. I eventually ignored them, but they gave the car a cheap look. Also, while going through a drive-thru, I noticed how low the car actually is. I was behind a Chevy Lumina and in front of a Ford F-150. The Lumina was much higher than I was. The truck's bumper was at the top of the trunk. If I hit any car head-on, the Neon would simply be demolished. Its plain and simple. I never heard any wind noise or anything like others have. Framed windows would have been better. When you roll the windows down and shut the doors hard, they rattle and shake. If you want a car that probably isn't good in a crash, guzzles gas, and feels cheap then get it. It is better than a Cavalier, Sunfire, or Escort though. Chrysler could have made the Neons nicer! | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | -The inside plastics look and feel very cheap-Noise is annoying at times-The 3-Speed Auto is in need of a 4th gear-Hills are a struggle-Base model had cheap-looking gray bumpers. Chrysler could have done better than these ugly bumpers.-Guzzles gas terribly. Averaged 18-20 mpg on highway.-Tried passing a car going up a small hill, which took forever. The hill wasn't even steep and the Neon was afraid to go over 70 to pass.
