| 08/28/2006 Police are searching for a car involved in an accident that killed a motorcyclist in Southwest Philadelphia early yesterday morning. The accident occurred at 74th and Holstein at 2:38 a.m., police said, when a black four-door Dodge Neon with tinted windows, a single chrome muffler, and a raised chrome spoiler stopped on Holstein to make a U-turn. The motorcycle struck the car from behind, and its rider, whose name was not released, was thrown off. The Neon's driver made the U-turn and drove away. The car wasn't necessarily at fault, but officers said they needed to speak with the driver to complete their investigation. The Neon, a 2002 to 2004 model, likely has damage to the left rear bumper, which may be ripped open and hanging off the car. Anyone with information about the crash or who may have seen the car is asked to call 911. Philadelphia Inquirer |
